I've been wanting to make fingerless gloves for a while, but I keep getting sidetracked. I share your alpaca itchiniess problem. It's tragic---blue sky alpacas alpaca and silk, which is pretty much the softest, most wonderful yarn I have ever touched, makes me itch. Most frustratingly, there's no way I would ever have guessed it would be a problem until I knit it up (good thing I chose to dedicate 8 months and 9 skeins to a lace shrug made of it). So annoying.
